Payment Details

Please email us at info@mennoniteburialsociety.com if you did not receive an invoice from us.

2025 Levy rates (no changes from previous year) were voted on by Members at the Jan 11, 2025 Annual General Meeting as noted below:

66 years and older  $ 155

46 to 65 years of age  $ 132

15 to 45 years of age  $  118

New-born to 14 years of age  $  30

Available invoice payment options 1), 2) and 3) are noted below and also shown at link below.  Option 4) is not active at this point, but possibly in the future.

1) Interac e-transfer – sign into your online banking site and then send an Interac e-transfer to info@mennoniteburialsociety.com for the amount of your invoice and please ensure that MBS account # (a 4 or 5 digit number on your invoice) is noted in the memo field.  No security question or answer is required, since we setup to auto deposit into our account.  In other words, if we receive an email requesting that we deposit with security answer, we can't do so since it's set to auto deposit.  So, you'll need to cancel that e-transfer and send another one, without any security question or answer, and the e-transfer should process correctly, like many e-transfers have already successfully done in the past.  Now look at 5) below for automatic email confirmation

2) Online –pay online by credit card or PayPal by following instructions, word for word, at bottom of this page.  Payment via phone or email is not possible, as that is not secure and our board members do not allow us to keep any credit card details on file.  Please go to bottom of page and fill out the form, including your account # (a 4 or 5 digit number on your Invoice) and click PayPal button, then if paying by credit card, see details below and make sure to click that button, then complete remaining forms.  Now look at 5) below for automatic email confirmation. Now look at 5) below for automatic email confirmation

3) Cheque, money order or bank draft – mailed to us.  As many members (and our board of directors) agree, cheque payment is the least viable option, since Canada Post does not deliver mail to us on a 100% guaranteed basis.  Cheques can go missing in the mail, before arriving with us.  Therefore members paying by cheque could unknowingly inactivate their membership in our society, along with inactivating their coverage (benefit payment of up to $6,900 based on 2025 rate), which would be very unfortunate and require additional efforts to become a member in good standing again.

4) Online Bill Pay via banking portal - since our invoices are annual, we have not set up at banks under the Pay Bills section of their online portals.  That method would cost us significant monthly fees, since the due date is March 15th, so we’d be paying for around 9 months (April onwards) of unnecessary monthly fees.

5) If your payment is correctly processed, you'll receive an email to the email address you added when you made your payment. If you did not insert your correct email address, PayPal will not know how to reach you with the receipt. Also, whether you pay via credit card or PayPal, you'll receive a receipt from PayPal, since they are the processing company looking after all payment types.
